 Each member of the 1959 graduating class has a deep loyalty to Southwest. We ha spent four important years here, and the memories of friends, classwork, and numberless activities will never leave us. Because of this loyalty, we of the class of 1959 wish to dedicate this yearbook to a man who has done more than any other to make Southwest a school to remember with pride. That man is our principal. Mr. Robert Classon. The principal of a school has a difficult job. It is he who must coordinate the curriculum, faculty, and administration, which are consistently undergoing examination and improvement. We are fortunate to have such a tireless and selfless worker as Mr. Classon in this important position. His years of service have seen many advances in Southwest. Recently, the school was expanded to include a junior high with facilities for science, music, and athletics which are unexcelled in any other Minneapolis school. Southwest High School is an important part of our community. A high standard of achievement is expected of Southwest graduates, and Mr. Classon seeks to instill in each student a feeling of responsibility. We are grateful, Mr. Classon, for your exemplary generosity and conscientiousness. We will try to fulfill your expectations. 4
