MHC Walking down the aisle on that graduation night in June, memories of many events crowded our minds. Some pleasant, some sad. Recalling the road we'd traveled, we could almost see the footprints made by the many different kinds of shoes that had led us up to graduation. The polished oxfords and graceful pumps in which we had danced at our first formal; The teacher's shoes, which we now realized, weren't very different from the comfortable loafers and saddle shoes which had carried us from class to class,- The spiked football shoes, flashing skates, and grimy tennis shoes in which we had practiced, played, and won many athletic contests. For the most part, the skates, the tennis shoes and the loafers had seen their day, and would be discarded, but the memories that they had helped us create would stay fresh in our minds for years to come. The graduation exercises were almost over. As we walked slowly down the steps to receive our diplomas, we glanced down at our shoes —the shoes that were now carrying us out of childhood and into life.

Dedication We dedicate our annual to our well-loved Mrs. Haaland, who gave so many years of invaluable service to us and to our school. Words always seem so ineffectual when trying to express gratitude for wonderful learning experiences and the warm friendship of a sympathetic teacher. Mrs. Haaland, who recently resigned her position as a teacher of English, took part in many other activities here. Among these were the Guidance Committee, Faculty Council, P.T.A. representative, Text Book Committee, Social Studies Department Chairman, and Y-Teen Advisor. All those who ever knew her will never forget what a wonderful friend and advisor she was and will join with us in a deep and heartfelt Thank You! 4
