We'll stand up true and honor you, Dear Loyal Southwest High. We'll conquer and prevail for rights our motto's Victory. Be faithful, and obedient, to Southwest High, all Hail. Composed by one of our students, Miss Mary Sue Mitchell. STUDENTS AND SCHOOL PATRONS OF R-5 SCHOOL DISTRICT R-5 School District has adequate schools considering the two years it has been in existance. The phrase adequate schools, however, is not used to mislead or to indicate that our school district at the present time is doing its job as well as it should be done. The needs of our children are great considering the fast changing demands and the amount of specialized knowledge that our present day society demands. Present day society needs to be more alert to our chi1dren's needs. The school program we offer needs to consider agriculture since we are living in an area which is basically agricultural. Our home economics curriculum needs expanding since the center of our society is the home. More adequate building facilities throughout the district, with provisions for lunchroom, music room, health facilities, etc., are needed. Adequate schools are not built and accomplished entirely through good intentions. Definite planning will be responsible for and result in better schools. JOHN E.
