Appling gained momentum and strength over last year, and their much improved record illustrated this fact. The Patriots fin- ished the season with an overall record of 7- 4, and a region record of 5-2. This was definitely a great improvement over last year's tally of 3-7. With their improved conference record, the Patriots took games from both cross-town rivals, Central and Northeast, which enabled them to win the coveted City Championship and, allowed TOP. They started the season off with an impressive five game winning streak. The best accomplishment was when the Patriots cracked into the ASSOCIATED PRESS prep ranking at Number Eight after a dramatic 31-30 victory over Baldwin County High School.
