l 'u Southwest Takes Form Our first year, a time of trials and tribu- lations where we groped and searched through the darknessp to find the light, to keep on keepin' on. An acorn At first we were a separate people, from lVlar Vista Junior, Montgomery Junior, Southwest Junior, lVlar Vista High, and Montgomery High. As time wore on though, we forgot where we came from, and worried about where we were going. Together. . . Pulling foreach other and Southwest. 1. The building of a place for many victories to come. 2. The beginning of things is a. mere image, the comple- tion a true fact. 3. Learning Begins lVlany of the students regretted coming to Southwest because they thought nothing would be ready and completely organized. Through time and perseverance So, the students started making use of what they did have. .. Our library started with only a few books to offer, but soon grew. ln the classrooms, we adjusted to the newness and to one another, and began the usual learning process in an atmosphere of gradually increasing unity . 1. Through the open door and down the silent hallway Jeff Fleck finds a place of peace. 2. In this place of teachings, thought is a necessity.
