administration v . X Neal Schmelzel Principal A Word from the Wise. Each school year affords everyone concerned with the educa- tion process an opportunity for growth and development. How well we individually and collectively respond to that challenge determines whether we have had a successful year or not. In balance I believe that our successes have exceeded our fail- ures and that we can reflect on a year that has been more posi4 tive than negative. Regardless, we cannot afford to rest on past laurels. No institution is so good that it can't be improved and Southwest is no exception to that axiom. We need to keep that idea of improvement in mind as we look to the future.
