Headed by quarterback Kent Foster and Chuck Smith, the junior varsity showed mluch io- tential. The offense was led by Marc Prigmore, Brian Heydon and Mike Metzger. Meanvtrhile on e ot er side of the ball were Fred Releford and John Stauffer bolstering the defense. The Southwest Hillclimbers at the end of their season hadn't attained the goals they had hoped for, but with Coach Richard Samuels at the wheel, they enjoyed a fairly successful year. Two climbers, Justin Moody and Fritz Stein vied for top individual honors in the league. And with fine perfor- mances from Mike Doohan and Scott Connors, the team placed second at the Power 6 interscholastic League City Meet. With four lettermen returning, Justin Moody, Harley Nash, Bill Greer, and Dave Penner, next year's Cross Coun- try Team looks promising.
