It was a year that began with the Summer Activities Council meeting and August football practice and orientation day. Yet, its recorded date of birth was September 7, 1966. Things, at first, were confused and seemed to move slowly. Then, old friendships were re-kindled and new friendships were formed. What was said in class began to make sensef, A feeling of unity and comradeship developed from a championship football team and frequent assemblies and Revels rehearsals. There were elections fraught with drama and a Christmas dance with two bands and the day school was snowed out. Then, the second semester came and there were changes. For some, classes began to drag along and the monotony of school seemed to mountg but for others, there was the Operetta or the Literary Con- test or the MASC convention or the Carnival. Yet for all, there was a multiplicity of experiences that created a succession of impressions. The year ended in June. What had taken months to create was hastily disassembled. The pieces were sepa- rated, but the effect of their union lingered, for the former pattern of experience had fashioned the lives and mem- ories of the individuals that had once moved and dis- covered together.
