Opening the season, Southwest won from Central, 12 to 6. In their next game, they were beaten by Soldan 18 to 8. This defeat was fol- lowed quickly by two victories, one over Vashon 13 to 0, the other over Hadley 14 to 7. The latter was an exciting game won in the last three minutes. Mr. Merchant, the coach, said that several mem- bers of the team could be considered for the 1957 varsity team. He summed up the season in these words, alive never enjoyed working so much with a group of boys as 1 have with these.
