Sponsor: Miss Hachtman SPRING ALTERNATES Our Student Council has sponsored many ac- tivities in the past twenty years, several of which have become regular events here at Southwest. uHello Day, initiated by the Council in 1945 as a welcome to the freshmen, is one of these. Reg- ularly, too, with the football season comes our Miss Southwest dance, planned with the assistance of the lettermen. Then, in conjunction with the Junior Red Cross, it sponsors yearly the overseas Christmas boxes. One of the recent accomplishments of the organization has been the writing and publication of the Southwest Creed. These, however, are but a few of the Councilis activities which have helped to make Southwest an outstanding school. Lord Bedbug and his Calypsonians add zest to a Hello Day aud. Seventeen
