Wviaa Soufkwaf The social event of the year was held in honor of Miss Southwest and her Maids on October 15, 1954. Our leading men of the athletic field, the Letterments Club, put the spotlight on Miss Southwest of 1954-Jackie Roux. Supporting roles were played by her charming maids: Ruth Allen, Carole Bau- meister, Paula Biggs, Lonnie Hen- derson, Barbara Jones, Deane Peters, Judy Rascher and Ruth Ann White. After the coronation the student body and friends at- tended the annual dance, sponsored jointly by the Student Council and the Lettermen's Club. These are Longhorns you have cheered for at the games and meets. To be qualified for membership, a boy must have a letter in one of the major sports. Anyone earning a letter in either football, basketball, track, baseball, tennis, or golf, is welcome. The primary objective of the Letterme-n is to further intensify interest in athletic activities, although the club occasionally sponsors a social event. One of the social events co-sponsored by the Lettermen's Club and the Student Council is the annual Miss Southwest dance. Twenty-three
