mr. ,Henry eifi Twelve Mr. Henry C. Zeis, assistant principal of Southwest for five years, has packed his saddle bags and left for greener fields and pas- tures new. The central office has claimed him to do a special piece of work connected with the evalua- tion program. We will miss his kindly face around Southwest, and we wish him well in his new work. When we asked him for a few facts about his life, he told us that he began his higher education at Illinois State Normal University and received his A. B. and A. M. degrees at the University of Illi- nois. He did graduate work at Chicago and St. Louis Universities, was principal of the high school at Highland, Illinois, and taught mathematics at the University of Illinois. Before taking up his duties at Southwest in 1946, Mr. Zeis taught at Roosevelt and McKinley High Schools and was assistant principal at McKinley from 1938- 1942 and at Soldan-Blewett for the following four years. When Mr. Zeis left our school, he said, The many friendships which I formed among the students and faculty will forever linger in my memory. t'Adios amigos I Than the fun began.
