One of the greatest honors which a student can achieve at Southwest is to be elected by his group to serve as a representative or alternate to the Student Council. Such election means that his group has confidence in his ability, integrity, and judgment. One representative and one alternate from each group may gain one of these coveted positions for one or more years of their school life. While this election is a great honor, it is also a grave responsibility as the Student Council speaks for the student body and initiates and car- ries through many of the projects that make Southwest the excellent school Eighteen
