the boys gather around a huge campfire, munch on EUGENE SPILLMAN's specially prepared prarie dogs, and listen to the soothing music of BILLY RENEGAR and his Blue-grass gang. The gangsters are JERRY HEGE, KENNETH JAMES, LANIER WOOSLEY, GLENDA PARDUE, and JULIA MILLER. What a melodious group! Speaking of groups, another one has formed since our graduation. The name of the group is Twinkling Fingers and its members are those girls who were wearing diamonds when they were seniors--SANDRA VESTAL, SANDY BEAUCHAMP, LINDA JONES, GERRY REAVIS, FRANKIE. BUTCHER, BECKY SIDES, PAT MILLER, BARBARA FORREST, BRENDA KETNER, Cl-IERYL NIFONG, and WILMA--can keep a secret-COLE. This club, along with their advisors RITA CRAVER KENNEDY, JAYNE LINEBACK JONES, LINDA CARPENTER CAPPS, and CLYDENE SPRINKLE SPARKS, take it upon themselves to make sure that all straying Trojans return to their hometown for the annual get together which is held at the home of big landowner, FRANKLIN WILLARD. BILLY STROBLE always brings his Big Top to town for the great event. Features in BILLY'S circus are JAMES MCMORDIE, the tall man, HARVEY BOOSE, the lion tamerg CHARLES CORNATZER, champion weight lifter, WILLIAM CHARLES VEST, the toughest man in the west, RAEFORD MITCHELL, the boy who rode to big top fame on his steer, WAYNE DAVIS, a tamed redhead, and DELORME SCOTT, the girl who lets a big horse stand on one foot-hers! The highlight of this years reunion was the appearance of celebrated Metropolitan Opera star and Dr. of Psychology, SHARON WELLS. SHARON sang one of PATSY HICKS'S one hundred musical arrangements. Air Forc e Intelligence Wheel, TINK SCHAFFER, made arrangements with GRAY MACY at Macy Controls to let us hear a word or two from U. S. space man, BOBBY COLLINS.A few years ago, BOBBY landed on the moon. Unfortunately, SCI-IAFFER'S crew is having a difficult time finding a way for Collins to re-enter the earth, so the world is faced with a Collins on the moon. Word did get back that Collins was greeted by BARBARA JOYNER, LOIS BEAUCHAMP, and MARY VAUGHN. The girls say that they left the night of graduation because they had heard of some martinis who needed help. What kind of help? Martinis, Scotch, or rye--this town hasn't a worry since DWIGHT COOKE and PHOEBE LINEBACK opened up the Trojan Dinner. SANDRA BODSFORD and LENA WATTS, who have just returned from a course in authentic South Sea Island cooking, will be the chief cooks and bottle washers. The cost of operation will be at a minimum since PAUL WAGONOR has promised to sell them groceries at a good price. Southwest folks have found that they don't have to pay a big price for entertainment. They have only to look around. There's BUCKY MARTIN'S Fossil House, CAROLYN CONRAD'S bird that skips, HAZEL GORDON'S Grapevine, a magazine filled with Gordon Gags, and of course, there is ALLEN CRAVER'S fish pond. Why just the other day JERRY BARNEY and ROGER WARNER went fishing. They both threw their lines into the water, and in no time they felt a great tug. They decied a whale must have been in the pond, but when they pulled the catch ashore they found the whale to be EDDIE SCHARFF who was s e arching for fossils for BUCKY'S collection. Speaking of collections, NANCY BEROTH and NANCY LUPER started a drive to build a commu- nity center and a fire station for the town's fire chief, VIRGINIA HUDSON. RONNY MATTHEWS was appointed h e a d of the Civil Defense immediately after news got out that ANDY SHARPE and HAROLD ELMORE were making explora- tions in the high school physics cabinet. We all know that these boys are not dangerous-but accidents do happen! The high school principal, BRENDA HOLDER, put in a good word for THEON VANCE, JANET I-IARPER,andJANE VOSS. She says that these are the most loyal students she's ever had. They are still at Southwest along with BECKY MOSER,GAYLE STONE, JUDY COX, BARBARA LEWIS, and JANET WOOSLEY. These ladies have invaded the commercial classes and have done away with shorthand completely. Of course, BRENDA BARNEY, is still around the school because she can't find time to graduate. Well, you can see that the '63 class was not and is not lazy. The great French scholar, DALE STELTER summed things up when he said, Just think where or what we'll be in twenty more years. Class Prophecy Time: 1980 A. D. Place: In and about the world. Persons: 1963 graduates of Southwest High School. Purpose: To let you know just what has happened to these Trojans. Can you imagine: That several of the hardworking Trojans have devoted their time and efforts to the Southwest Community. Imrnedately after STANLEY MOCK was sworn in as Mayor of the town, he appointed JUDY SHORE, chief secretary, ANN GREEN, head of the Board of Education, GARLAND FERRINGTON, agriculture agent, ARTHUR HOLSHOUSER, chief ofpolice, and PHYLIS TILLEY, head of the recreation department. PHYLIS and ROCKY ROTHROCK, at the request of leading citizens BETTY BREWER, MARTY COLLETTE, and BILL HYLAND, are beginning work on an all-out physical fitness program. Their helpers will be TOMMY CRAVER, Mr. Muscles of '75, and his friend Mr. Handsome Man-PAUL HUFF. What a campaign this is going to be! Speaking of campaigns. Missionary PATT MILHOUS and lawyer,JAMES RICHARDSON went to Wilkes County awhile back, got involved in an abolition of prohibition cam- paignand were almost abolished themselves! Luckily, Dr. JOSEPH S. RICHARDSON, a relative of JAMES, and his as- sistant, nurse LAURA HAMPTON, were nearby. They rushed to the scene and restored the pair to their normal health. Speaking of health-The Southwest Community is determined not to let itself become unfit for its people. Why, with Rev. HAROLD WHITE, J. BARRY JOHNSON, the ball-playing veternarian, nurses BETTY JOYCE NEWSOM, BONNIE HOWARD, and GERALDINE VOGLER, Home Economist, JOAN ROBERTSON, Sanitation Director, TOMMY REDDING, and tree surgeon, DEWEY KIGER, alias The Monkey--How could this town ever become unfit? Many adventurous Trojans have indirectly brought joy to theinhome town. There's H.V. MILNER who ran away from home to seek riches in thel movie industry. H.V. 's last epic, Whatever Happened to Big John and Glenn, starring Big JOHN WINFREY and his sidekick GLENN TUTTLE is a smashing success. Well, JOHN and GLENN joined the Marines to see what they could see! Then there's the other John, JOHN TYLER, leader in men's fashions. The style for the eighties is white shirt, black tux and tie, dirty sneakers, and no socks- how neat! JOHN also serves as a fashion consultant to CAROL STILLEY and KAY HOWERTON who are kept busy designing wardrobes for Hollywood stars JOAN BODSFVORD, KAY MAYNARD, and PERRIE ANDERSON.Also in the artistic world PAT G. LANDRETH and LEONA BINKLEY are receiving for their acting in Broad- way's Missing Pearls. Top Vogue model, SUZANNE STIMPSON has been offered a movie contract b , presiynt Oi Slow Motign Studios, MIKE recentlyycompleted a film strip.-Qout'fhe art of mechanics. BARRY SNYDER was featured in the film. Wordl' sp-ifead that BTARRY and his boys carI'work-vTcRi'Wt'ITiiET'I'Ta'Epread around since LINDA BALDWIN took her sick Continental to them for treatment. Several other Southwest Boys have reached their goal with great vigor. They are race car drivers JON LOWDER, RONNIE and LONNIE MCDANIELS, BOBBY POPLIN, ROGER HOCKADAY, and BEN MILLER. They all agree that their success is due to the hard work of pit crew members RONNIE REAVIS, JIMMY BURKE, LARRY ROBERTSON, TIFFIN DRANE, and GRAY GRIFFITH. As usual there are many people who work behind the scenes, just as a pit crew, and never get recognition for their work. One of these persons is LYNN ADCOCK, a budding young chemist who invented the A-Choo Sneezing Powder. This ice-breaker was tested by MIRLAM BREWER, GAYE MARTIN, BRENDA HOWARD, and EVELYN HOLDER who can be found each week cheering the professional basketball team starring the Dunkum Deftly Boys DON COLLINS, DON WHEELING, CALVIN DULL, JIMMY HUNTER, and DALMER TAYLOR. The gals agree with LYNN when she says a little sneeze'1l do ya ! MARTHA HARDIN has become invaluable to JOYCE SHIELDS, the wealthy owner of Poodle Doodle Dandy, a psychotic poodle. Yes, MARTHA is a dog psychiatrist. STEVE SLOAN, an air-conditioning millionaire has financed a doggone ultra- modern clinic for way out canines. ' . s motives other than that of'being a dog lover? Another lover is BRUCE ALLCORN. However, NANCY HUFF, receptionist at Bruce's Playboy Club, says that his love is not for dogs! That love isn't for horses either because WAYNE PEOPLES seems to be the only real cowboy in the South- west. WAYNE LIVENGOOD, BURTON BONER, and EDGAR LAWSON are responsible for the well-being of Peoples Pintos and WAYNE realizes that he must keep his ranchers happy, so each evening when all the work on the range is finished, 158
