Distributive Education is a program for developing future leaders in the fields of marketing and distribution. The Southwest program was begun in 1959. Many awards and honors have been won by members of our student body. Students who participate in the D.E. program divide their day between school and jobs, thus combining classwork with practical experience. Inwthesfalliuthe Di. volticers partici pated in the Leadership Conference at Salisbury. The club keeps an array of interesting materials in its display case. 127

Band One of Southwest's newer organ- izations, the band is made up of musically talented and able students who work hard to perfect their spirited routines. This year a new feature, marching, was added. Throughout the year, the music of the band added sparkle and fun to football games and pep rallies. ee
