The National Honor Society is an organization that confers on its m e mb e rs the highest honor received by them during their high school years. Membership in this chapter is based upon Scholarship, Character, Service, and Leadership. A scholarship average of at least 2.4 quality points is required for membership in this chapter. The purpose of this chapter is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a de- sire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the de ve lopme nt of character in stude nts of Southwest High School. THE PLEDGE I pledg e myself ever to seek the light of truth, to hold before the school scholarly habits, to engage in'worthy ser- vice, and to lead forward in all things that shall advance the welfare of the school.
