Both these individuals have been a tremendous asset to the district and community. Mr. Hill has taught in the dristrict and served in the capacity of Vocational Counselor. Mrs. Lozano has served as a high school counselor and as high school assistant principal.

We watched as the world we would soon be a part of change. Major problems were also dealt with. As we tried to pass this week's test, the President was being sworn into office for a second term. Eighteen-year-olds registered for the draft and hoped there would never be a need for them. Southwest students faced a year filled with changes. I. L. Todd began his first year as principal of the new high school building. House Bill 72 placed a set of new requirements on high school students around the state. Long time Superintendent of SWISD Mr. Bennie Steinhauser, announced his plans to retire from the district after 16 years of service. We watched 1984-85, and we prepared for the future years, when we would be the leaders. 3
