Different methods of teaching literature and grammar were presented to students this year in the English Department. Mrs. Clements taught her students to examine the grammar while reading and studying literature. In Sophomore English Mrs. Byrom assigned book reports in a seriesin- stead of arranging them all through the year. Mrs. Zwememann prepared seniors by teaching on a college level interest. Zzculty - History While students study about explorers, revolu- tion, depression, etc., in American and World His- tory, they also examine the nature of mankind with a course in sociology. Sociology was offered this year for the first time. Mr. Riordan taught on a class discussion basis, using paperbacks and re- search materials rather than textbooks.
