uperiufcndeuf is Message To the students and the other friends of the Southwest High School I extend cordial greetings and sin- cerest good wishes. The year 1964-65 has been marked by a record of achievements which will probably characterize it as outstanding, if not epoch making, in the history of this school. It would be presuming if, indeed, not impossible, for me to record in this brief greeting an adequate enumeration much less a description of these achievements. May it suffice to say that a larger physical plant, an increased enroll- ment, a stronger faculty, an improved esprit de corps and the attainment of recognition by the educa- tional institutions of higher learning are but the most obvious examples. While these and other desirable advances have been realized during the session now closing, it would not be proper to assume that they are the product of the year's thought. The yield of fruit in nature and in any worthy enterprise is contingent upon plans wisely laid and skillfully executed far in advance of expected returns. May I indulge the hope that as the years come and go your love for Southwest High School and your loyalty to its ideals may continue to grow, and that in service you may ultimately reflect the greatest pos- sible honor upon all who have contributed toward the establishment. expansion, and support of this seat of learning.
