gen! L D E ae . X l I. U! The Southwest Dekalb offense was led by Jeff Gabriel, Dennis Fish Herring, Drew and Randy Wagner, Tim Lawrence, and Mich Cald- well who all combined to do the scoring. To- gether the Panthers buried some of their top rivals in such close contests as the Avondale and Towers defeats. Although the season ended on a disappointing and controversial note, the S.W.D. Panthers and Coach Dewey Alverson put together a record and more important, a team, that we can all be proud of. 66

It is made up of back-breaking work from early Spring to mid-Winter and it is put together with the efforts of coaches, managers, an offense, a defense, and a will to win. The 1975 Varsity Panthers compiled an 8-2 record on sheer determination as well as physical strength and mental experience. The teams defense led by Sen- iors jirrimy Caddy, Gary Burger, Billy Clark, Brad Coon, and Donnie Strickland held down such power- houses as Avondale, Shamrock and Towers. 67
