This year's Powder Puff game was truly a Star Spangled event not only because of the Bicentennial celebration but also when playing one tended to see stars. In one of the most fired-up contests yet, the underclassmen and seniors went at it full steam ahead with Robyn King and Iill Joiner taking command of the underclass and Laurie Mills and Cindy Buttril at the senior front. From the very start of the game it was competitive. During the days of practice that preceded the game, shouts, cheers and not so mild insults flew across the field between the opposing sides. The game was mostly underclass-dominated with seniors trailing from the very first play, while flags tied to belts on one side, shaving cream and fingernails proved effective on the other. Everyone took part in the fun including spectators who were doused with water balloons and teachers who were treated to free shaving cream and water hoses.
