I t M tra Turin WGN im The much used quote of today You've come a long way baby not only applies to Women's Liberation but also to our mode of travel. As I tried to pull into the SWD parking lot this morning, I realized how far transportation really has come. I pulled into my parking space, surrounded by anything from Cadillacs to little Toyotas, when across the sidewalk I saw a good friend, Bob White, I honked the hom and waved but he didn't hear me because his quadrophonic stereo was too loud. I tried to imagine what SWD parking lot would be like filled with horse-drawn buggies or Model-T Fords. What a riot!! I realized that not only has our transportation evolved, but the public system too. We've come from street cars and trains to subways and air- planes. These are luxuries that we often take for granted.
