Its 3:20 again. In just a few minutes thousands of eighth graders are going to come swarm- ing out of the school and try to get through my doors at the same time. Talk about painful! But Ill not complain. Thats only half the battle. The worst part comes on the way home. All that screaming and jumping around. I remember one day I had to run the whole route and was on my way home when a kid jumped out from under a seat and yelled, SUPRlSEl He said he had been hiding. lt's days like that one that make me want to quit. But if I quit, who would take my place and deliver all those kiddies back to their mamas? I mean l'm really an accepted part of. society. Listen to how they cheer for me as I pull into view in the afternoon. Well maybe being a school bus isn't so bad after all. Here they come now, those sweet little devils. Come on kiddies and jump through the windows, I don't care. l'll get you home safely. l'm proud to do my share to preserve the American Way. 97 F if Q Ax
