Twila Smith Orlin Stewart Education 81 P hysical E ducatio n Dr. Weaver and Miss Hunter joined the Education and Physical Education depart- ments respectively. A reading minor was es- tablished in the Education department earlier in the year. jess Horner and Ron White led the ath- letic department in setting new individual records. Horner broke seven all-time records averaging 22.9 points per game. White fol- lowed with two new records and 15.6 points game average. Horner and White were named to the all-district team and the state all-star senior team. The outstanding game of the season was against Lincoln University with a 76-74 victory for the bearcats. The women's athletic department had an outstanding volleyball team this year with a 16-6 won-lost record. The volleyball team won the John Brown and the Southwest district tournaments. They then went to the state meet and won over Southeast Missouri State for their second state championship in a row. Marcia Rozell, Terry Taylor, and Billie Jo Goodman led the team in overall per- formance. David Weaver 23
