Have you heard that shorthand students improve their skill by ear? The Department of Business and Economics used a listening laboratory that enabled each business student to take dictation at a rate consistent with his shorthand pro- ficiency level. This was new. A hypnotic disc was not new, but was counted among the grow- ing inventory of psychological and experi- mental testing devices used by the Department of Psychology. Expansion is much evident in all departments of the Division of Social Sciences.
