K N Q , .... N xx. m m 'Ute Gofranation of the Mem., Almost everyone, has at some time enjoyed dreaming of the days of knights and ladies, kings and queens, All who saw the coronation of the Mozarkian Queen, December l8, at Muirheid Hall, could easily imagine that they were liv- ing in the time of good King Arthur. The bearing of the queen, Edna Bee Wood, the dignity of Prince Charming, Tilfin Teters, andthe attitude of their subjects made the scene very impressive. As Louise England played Wollenhaupt's Grande Marche Militaire the pro- cession, led by two pages, Eunice Nash and Jack Houser, entered the reception hall where an improvised throne had been placed. Next came Dean Pike and Mr. Oscar Pigg. They were followed by the Queen and Prince Charming and their attendants, Thelma Nease, Paul Eaton, Mildred Schnake and Willis Mur- daugh. After a short prayer by Mr. Pigg, Dean Pikeispoke a few well-chosen words concerning the attributes of womanhood. l Prince Charming then crowned Edna Bee, Queen of the Mozarkian and with all those present drank to her health and long life. The Queen responded by expressing her appreciation of the honor she had been given, and drank to the of the student body and of Prince Charming. A Again the strains of the Grande Marche M ilitaire were heardg the procession formed again and left the reception hall, this time led by Prince Charming and the newly-crowned Queen of the Mozarkian. Everyone is familiar with the saying, A school is judged by the pro- duct which it sends out to take its place in the world. It is unfortunate that there cannot be placed upon this product a tag showing the condition of the raw material as it entered the schoo-l. l am sure that if suchta plan could be adopted in schools as Southwest Baptist College, with her Christian atmos- phere, the reaction of the public as to her ability would be gratifying. As Alumni, we need but to look back upon the history Mater to see the tremendous sacrifices that have been made to keep this great in- stitution moving forward to the place she now holds in the hearts of her con- stituency. We need but to look to the courageous men and women who in try- ing days have gone without their salaries, and who have rendered their services cheerfully, or to those who have given of money, saved to satisfy a cherished dream, that the college might meet pressing financial obligations, to realize that ll ' more than an ordinary school. Every loyal alumnus is grateful for those sacriflces and for the many person- our influences and our gifts are pledged al benefits he has received. Our prayers, i I , ' I to our Alma Mater, that she may f training men and women for the service of the Master. H .
