The candidates intro- duced themselves and gave short campaign speeches before the class in a tall convocation. Votes were also cast at the convo for cheerleaders. Previously the officers were elected by the members of the council, chosen in English class. Much of the year was spent learn- ing proper parliamentary procedure and the means of working diplo- matically with the student body and administration.
