O'Brien Zin emuriam During the summer vacation of 1949 death came suddenly to two members of the Senior Class of Southside High School. On August 5, 1949, Richard Parmer and Ioseph H. O'Brien were killed in a tragic automobile accident. A Dick came to Southside High after graduating from the Pennsylvania Avenue School. He served on many committees and was active in home room sports. Ioe had attended the Parley Coburn School and been graduated from there before coming to Southside High School, where he was on the Track Team and various committees of our class. Both of the boys were very popular in and out of school and have been greatly missed. The Class of 1950 dedicates this page to the memory of Ioe and Dick. P 28
