.tl M., Denson Ellerbe Togeau, as he is farrpiliarly called, is no stranger to South Side. Formerly in charge of the football and basketball squads, he returned this year as boxing instructor, His facile humor, intimate knowledge of sports, and excellence as a raconteur have brought him close to South Side boys. Bro. G. Busch, S.M. Two titles came to the Dragon B quintet this year largely because of the mentoring by Brother Gerard Busch who be- gan to coach winning teams in Chicago eight years ago. Characteristic of Brother Ger- ard is his sense of humor that invariably colored B basket- ball sessions. Bro. Bernard Marks, S.M. Brother Bernard's freshman baseball team is one of the classiest fledgling nines seen around South Side in several years, probably because Bro. Bernard shows 'em how. He also aided in coaching the champion varsity soccer squad, and in coaching and supervising inframural ath- letlcs. Mr. C. I. Moncken When asked To name Mr. Moncken's position in the afh- letic department, Brother Dan said, He's the Dean of Man- agers arid the transportation committee. Hes at every game and the first one at every school function. Mr. Moncken is the father of Cleary Moncken, lC. Page Fortyfflirce Bro. Lambert Muder. S.M. Assistant varsity football coach, hectograph bulletinisi, and scoremarker supreme these are Brother Larriherfs sports titles. His sysferr, of scoring varsifv basketall games is an ingenious one that keeps a sho'-by-sho' ac- count of each player-V an in- valuable checkfup that keeps ine varsity humble. Bro. Henry Collins, S.M. His C basketball squad, as fast and furious a collection of l'nli9S US 5:f'v'E'I' '.'l'IS CSSQTR' bled here, revealed several pote-n'ial varsity players. Bro. Henry was one of the povsers behind intramural baslcefrzall, officiating at regular Saturday Midget and Minim games for twelve weeks. Bro. Robert Wagner, S.M. Tennis is his forte, enthusiasm his trademark, the varsity net squad his nursling. Brother Robert is also the athletic de- partment's handyman, super- vising and refereeing game? and designing the many pcs ters, bulletins, and drive ther- mometers that flank the spir- ited walls outside the ath- letic office. Mr. Vincent Wiese Giving of himself freely, Mr. Vincent Wiese did thorough work as assistant coach of the co-champion B football squad. He learned in the hard school of experience in '36 and '37 when he did neat quarterbacking for the Drag- ons, then known as Gunners, xjf All I fs

Wessels Third row o intramurals Making the most of the new gymnasiurrz, the freshmen and sophomores organized the schools first intramural basketball leagues this year. With Brother Anthony Gerhardt in the role of guiding light and Hludge Landis, the fledglings played in three divisions: the frosh Midgets, the frosh Minims, and the sophomores. In the Minim class, lD grabbed the title with six victories and but one defeat. 1C lapped the Midget field with seven wins and a single loss.
