S iritua Behind every major proiect ot Catholic Action is the Central Committee, made up ot one elected representative troni each ot the eighteen titular classes. As is customary, the Com' mittee's maior work of the year was the annual Christnias Food Drive, which was under the direct supervision ot Father Doclcter, moderator ot the Committee at that time. Well over two hundred baskets were distributed on Christmas eve. The seniors handled collection, evaluation, packing and distribu- tion of the food. While Father Doclcter was in charge of the Committee, minutes of each ot its meetings, supplemented by his own ideas and comments, were presented bi-weekly to each class tor discus- sion at the regular Catholic Action meetings. The second maior undertaking of the year, the paper drive, surpassed records ot previous years. Besides these protects, the Committee was instrumental in maintaining the illuminated bulletin board, stimulated mission collection, and fostered special Marianist proarams during Qctober and May. Fatner Babe directed the activities ot the group durznfg the second semester. 0 retreat Early in September, the students made their iouffday annual retreat of meditation, prayer. instruction and examination of conscience.
