C 0 I'TlDD g extra curricu ar lea ers 0 activity awardse-H-F As eeee ee-so-PA ' -seeds --F- Students taking part in non-athletic extra-curricular activities are rewarded at the end of each year with a rnerit pin, just as athletes receive letters. Classes outstanding in activities receive the Spirit Banner, and the classes winning the Banner most often earn a holiday. This year 4B, 3D, ZA and 1C led their divisions. Individual awards begin with the silver pin for 120 activity points. As the students point total increases he becomes eligible in turn for the one-, two-, and three-chevroned gold pin. For 1000 or more points the gold pin with the embossed green S is given. The seven seniors pictured on this page have qualified for this highest award. Ninety-nine pins will be distributed on Class Day. Francis Peschke The lead in the Senior Class Play, musical work with the Glee Club, and work in the library assure Peschke ot the top award this year. L t L' b Morgan Pen? es er ie mann The Senior Class Play, oratory, debating, Clarion work, a class presidency-all were contribu- ting factors in Perry's amassing of the coveted 1000 point total. Edwin Kastner Particularly outstanding in Glee Club work, Kastner also gained a large number of points as a librarian and in backstage work at Whistling in the Dark. Torn Boldt Practically all of Boldt's points were earned this year, with the Senior Class Play and his Clarion position contributing heavily to his total. Two years of Clarion and var- sity debating points gained the bulk of Liebmann's points. He is the only student winning the S pin this year who was not in the Senior Play. Clyde Fava Two years of circulation work for the Clarion and a spot in Whist- ling in the Dark were the major factors in earning Fava his S pin. William Federer A maior part in Whistling in the Dark, an associate editor- ship on the Clarion staff and participation in debating and ora- tory won Federer more than the necessary l000 points.
