The Sweater Swirl is held in the fall amid autumn leaves and pumpkins, and the Christmas Dance highlights the exciting yule season The annual Turnabout Twirl is anxiously awaited by the boys as the girls make use of the saying, Turnabout is fair play. But the event of the year is the Junior-Senior Prom when the juniors bid farewell to the seniors. To close the social whirl, the May Dance is held in honor of the spring athletes. ges on their dates before attending the Turnabout Preparing for the festivities of the Christmas dance, Winter Wonderland, are seniors Kathy Euler D.ck Rodebaugh, Steve Schoultz, Janice Miller, Steve Higgs, and Judi Fox

yVeen i- oynpetition In the Trouble Shooting contest, Southport ' i boys again proved we are tops by de- tecting all the mechanical defects in their car and driving to win the trophy. imAii r -—- m Jane Robertson, Sandy Rutz, and Judy Nicholson were awarded a $100 grant by the Indiana Heart Association for their experiments with rats, ' rabbits, and cockroaches to find the effects of cholesterol in arteriosclerosis. Patty Pasch and Kathy Ball, elected state FBLA presi- dent and reporter, respectively, later attended the Na- tional Convention in Washington ,D.C.

Juniors and seniors enjoy the beauty of the Japanese garden that was the setting of the Junior-Senior Prom, Sayonara. May queens swing on a rainbow. Sue Wasson, senior, was chosen for service; Sharon Ford, junior, for her personality; Marianne Solomon, sophomore, for her beauty; and Luanne Sims, fresh- man, for her friendliness.
