Principal Mr. C. Leedy first came to Perry Township as a teacher in 1921. Eight years later he came to Southport, then a school of about 340 pupils and 14 faculty members, as Vice-principal, ln 1939, Mr. Leedy became principal. Since that time, Southport has become a First Class Com- missioned High School and a member of the North Central Association largely through the efforts of Mr. Leedy and the faculty. What. Mr. Leedy likes best about our new building is the added space for each teachcnand, of course, the new gym. The new building enables Mr. Leedy to do bet- ter .over-all planning and to broaden the curricular offerings. When asked how he likes his position as principal at South- port, Mr. Leedy replied, This is my life and l thoroughly enjoy it. Admimktwztion and Fozcult Superintendent Due to the installation of a metropolitan school system in Perry Township, Dr. Edward E. Glenn was selected as the new superin- tendent of schools. Dr. Glenn, married and the father of one son, is well qualified for this most responsible position. Receiving his A.B. Degree at Qak- land City College in 1932, he later acquired his M.A. Degree in 1935, and his Doctor's De- gree in 1955 at Indiana University. ' Having served eight and one-half years as a high school principal and mathematics and science teacher and eleven years as Superin- tendent of Schools of Columbia City, Indiana, Dr. Glenn has found time in his busy sched- ule for many worth while organizations. ln- cludecl are the Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge, the Chamber of Commerce, and many educa- tional panels and conferences. Dr. Glenn's outside interests include photo- graphy and travel. 26
