,,.mav-an-dv Theres No Business Like The well-known book and movie production, Father of the Bride, was given in play form by the Junior Class of l956. The bride, Janice Utterback, had a great many difficulties in getting her wedding arrangements made. The groom, Jerry Trotter, wanted a simple ceremony, the mother of the bride, Darlene Tharp, wanted an elaborate wedding, the father of the bride, Melvin Gaston, wanted a ceremony without expense. lt all ends happily to the tune of the Wedding March. Mary Kay Williams, Harvey Rau, Mary Lou Gardner, and Fred Rucbeck comprised the supporting cast. One of the maior productions of the vocal department was the presentation of the operetta, Bamboo Box, under the direction of Mr, William Bcmenderfer. The plot involves a Chinese maid- en, Ah Liu, wanting to see the world but re- stricted and inhibited by Chinese customs, even- tually, however, all difficulties are solved. Gordon Graham, Carol Ryker, Floyd Wilson, and Kathy Nichols played the leading parts, and they were supported by the members of the vocal music department. lo Show Business
