Oh, How We Danced Dancing on the stage at the lunch periods was enjoyed by many students throughout the year. Our l952 Prom, given by the Junior Class in honor of the Seniors, was held at the Marott Hotel in the lovely Marble Ballroom. At the left are super-salesmen Jo Kelly and Harry Beck. These hard workers were the winners of the mag- azine drive. Due to the combined ef- forts of all the students, the Magazine Drive this year went over the quota.

Our Most Traveled Scout One of our seniors, Jack Whalen, attended the Boy Scout Jubilee at ' Bad-lschl, Austria. During his trip he saw various countries such as Algeria, ltaly, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. He has graciously shared his experiences with the other stu- dents by showing slide films to sev- eral clubs. Our Deans During our life at Southport High School, we have come to recognize Miss Penrod and Mr. Kellam with increasing esteem. They bridge the gap between the student body and the administration and they are always willing to assist the students with their problems whether they are personal or scholastic. We feel that Miss Penrod is outstanding in her field since she is an executive board member of the eleventh district and chairman of the Central Division of Indiana State Teachers Association. She is also the second vice-president of the Indiana Classroom Teachers Association. fi
