Bessie La Freniere came to work at Southold School District over twenty years ago. She came to work as a guidance aide in August of 1966. Bessie went to work as secretary to Mr. Henry Williams (Supervisory Principal) in 1967. In 1970, she assumed secretarial responsibilities with Dr. Krouse (District Principal). Bessie was appointed school district treasurer in 1972, the fourth woman in the history of the school district to become a district official and the first woman to serve in this position in over 23 years. In 1983. Bessie was appointed Clerk of the Board and has continued as Clerk and Secretary to the Superintendent since that time. At the end of this year Bessie will be retiring from our school district, leaving us all filled with warm memories. 21

Faculty and administration provide the basis from which students learn. By providing knowledge and a world of experience they are people to turn to when you are in question.
