Class HISIOIY Four year ago a motley group of eager l1ttle freshles entered S H S ready to do thexr par for Scuthold We were an unusual class from the start havlng a majorxtv of girls yet electlng all boys as class officers Presxdent Everett Va1l V1ce Presldent Nelson Davlds Secretary Robert Sanford Treasurer john Courtenay We started our soclal act1v1t1es wlth the organ zatrcn of a Botanlcal and Zoologlcal Club holdlng several well remembered partles The purchase of class plns was the last notable event of 36 Wlth the promotlon to sophomores the glrls managed to assert thelr female authorlty ln elec t1on as follows Charles Colombo Dorls Prxce Danlel Overton and Ehzabeth Grattan As junxors we started to feel a blt more lm portant A jun1orSen1or party was held and thoroughly enjoyed by all Charlxe Colombo Ehzabeth Grattan Bob Sanford and Everett Vall were the class officers Our class rmgs were pur chased at the close of the year and we took our place ln the sprlng sellxng candy sponsormg sup pers sales etc we resumed our money maklng projects Several sales suppers an extensrve magazme campalgn and a card oartv netted the desxred pecumary matter for the Washlngton trlp Ceven though we had manv dxsturbmg forces to contend w1th such as a hurrncane several lnopportune snowstorms and the constructlon of our new schoolj Our officers Everett Vall Monxca Grxgonls Ehzabeth Grattan and Charlle Colombo have served us well and as we look forward to graduatlon and fare wells let us not forget the ones who have helped to make our task a frultful one In partlng we wlsh to express our thanks to both our teachers and the townspeople who have been the steadfast pxllars of our success On Comlng Home Late N1ne ten eleven twelve Happy New Year Gang' Thrs shout was followed by the usual ex pressxons of good rlddance to the old year and Joyful greetings to the new Soon everybody qui eted down and joe suggested golng to Mattltuck and gettmg somethlng to eat Well by the txme that we had gotten our eats and arrlved back 1n Southold rt was 4 30 am Suddenly the awful reahzatlon that I had to go home hxt me wnth 1ts full effect After a llttle persuasion I got Bud dy to take me home Dont slam that car door when I get out Bud I Sald I dont want the folks to be awak ened lf It can be avorded Bud thoughtfully walted untll he went around the corner and then shut the door Mean whrle I had pushed open the front door just a crack and llthered 1ns1de Now came the task of cllmblng those suueaky stalrs Wlth shlvers of pprehenslon I took off my shoes and started creeplng up the stalrs ln my stocklng feet By using all cautlon I reached the top of the starrs tcetered down the hall to my room uundressed and got lnto bed wlthout maklng any nolse The next morning when I went down stairs my slster was the only person 1n the kltchen Where are the folks?
