AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK American Education Week is observed in the school each year during the month of November. Special activities in art, music, physical education, and reading are conducted throughout the school. The theme in 1977 was Working Together for Educationf' Involved were parents, students, teachers, administration, and interested friends. 1 2 1. Costume parade, American Education Week, 1976 2. Art Contest, 1976. 3. Mrs. Williams, 1977 American Education Week Chairperson, and her class made baskets and filled them with fruit and candy to remember special friends of the school. 4. John Lusk presents a goody basket to Hoyle Smith, the bus mechanic. 5. Students took adults' places for a day. Renee Rhodes was the Principal. 6. Jeff Carrick was Secretary and found that one of Mrs. Warfford's chief duties was first-aid work. 7. Sarents and grandparents visited the school. Mr. M.L. Byrd told the fourth grade about his early school ays. 8. President Bobby Carrick presented Mrs. Williams with a cake for a party given to the staff by the P.T.A. 54
