CITIZENS OE THE WEEK The Citizens of the Week program was begun in 1976, during American Education Week. Its purpose is to honor one student from each class who represents an attitude of good citizenship. Citizens are chosen every two weeks by their classmates. Good citizens meet with Mrs. Parker every second Friday. They have lunch with her at a long, specially- decorated table in the lunchroom. Everyone has a name tag, which is a symbol of the season or of a nearby holidaiy. Discussions are held on good citizenship, ways to improve the school, and how to promote good attitu es.
