FHA FHA's main theme for the year was Ecology. They helped pick up trash and paper in the community. Their biggest pro- ject of the year was hosting the District Convention here at Southmont on April 5 to highlight National FHA week. Other activities for the year were co-sponsoring the Christmas Dance and a Senior Breakfast. Santa made an appearence and passed out gifts to the couples at the Christmas Dance co-sponsored by the S. S.S. The decora tions also carried out the Christmas theme. Other events of the year were initiation of the Freshman and collecting for the Heart Fund. jini Kessler was the Heart Fund Queen. The society also held an Ideal Ladie's Tea and honored the Seniors at a Spring breakfast. Members also attended the State and District Convention. 24

Youth in Action FT on the Move 26 Youth for Christ, under the supervision of Mr. johnson, sponsored many activities this year high- lighted by a bake sale. The proceeds from this went to help the needy people of our community. FTA, under the supervision of Mr. Spohr sponsored special activities such as cadet teaching and student exchange program with North Montgomery. This year FTA visited North Montgomery and School for the Blind.
