' e students.gMany pijivilegeswhiich students had l taken for granted in. previous years were suddenly takenaway from them. For example, due to the back , parking lot being reduced to nothing more than a mound of dirt, the student parking has been greatly limited this year, preventing many students from driving. to school. The few students that do drive must arrive early to cram into the small front lot or else r they are forced to park in the student mud lot. Outdoor gym classes were forced to take up jogging as a new hobby, as the classes had to walk around the entire school in order to reach the softball field and tennis courts. Smokers were also forced to move to a new smoking area located at the opposite end of the school from last year's area. Band practicing procedure also underwent major alterations. Since the band room was torn down to provide space for the new auditorium and music department, the band had to rehearse in the third floor lecture hall and had to start outside ten minutes early for marching band practice in order to arrive on the field in time. However, despite all of ' these inconveniences, once the construction has been completed, the new resources will be beneficial to the .entire school. .XZ .,,,, V, Our True Blue And White Grew Mth The Color Red he traditional colors at Southington High have been blue and white for many years. This year, 1985-86, the color red was introduced into our scenario. The two main areas of this addition were in the sports and band uniforms. Various sports teams and the Marching Band had the color red used as an accent to their uniforms, mostly in outlining. The red seems to have warmed up the appearances and raised the spirit i and pride of these two groups of students. X ,- Ylflld Far Left: Senior, Mike Early strides toward 133,-ix finish line.
