.....A - ---I 'Nl' ct fi Q a bright future: a pre-professional Many pre-professtional subjects are offered to students who wish to have job training before leaving high school. Pre-professtional skills are important for life after high school in getting a job, preparing to meet col- lege needs, and running a home. The Business Department prepares the student for competence in an of- fice situation, as well as courses that benefithome and college. Business is an inherent part of everyone's life and it is wise to have knowledge of a few of the basic skills offered at S.H.S. The Home Economics Department prepares students for home and fam- ily life with both skills and values. It offers courses such as Child Growth and Development, independent Liv- ing tpopular with the male species!! and Food Service which gives stu- dents job entry skills. The Industrial Arts program provides training in hand and machine tools and in the processes of industry. Stu- dents can develope industrial inter- ests-in metals, graphics, electronics, woods, automotives, and drafting. The school also offers many voca- tional programs such as Co-opera- tive Work Education, Vocational Ag- riculture, and Distributive Education for retail experience training.
