anguage is the most astonishing. Lytton Strachey ALPHONSE A. D'ANGELO Club LANGUAGE Southington High School offers its students an enriched and creative language program. It offers instruction in three Romance languages, Spanish, French, and Italiang one classical languagesg Latin, and one Germanic language, German. In an effort to coordinate the language pro- grams of Southington schools, all teachers of languages have participated in a series of con- ferences which have resulted in a comprehensive three year language program. Consequently, stu- dents now are being taught the basic elements of foreign languages in both the seventh and eighth grades and are thoroughly prepared for a more complete study when they enter high school. Not only is this beneficial to the students, because most have never before encountered a foreign language, but also because many stu- dents, upon reaching high school, may delve more deeply into the cultural and artistic ele- ments characteristic of every language.
