Music o 9 Q . 0 La Muszque LApotheoszs des Arts Mr. Con rad Gozzo During the last few years, the Music Department has grown considerably, both in courses offered and in the number of students enrolled. Band and Orchestra are offered to all students who are fairly proficient in playing some instrument. Both are full credit courses and have additional requirements outside of classroom attendance. Marching and concert attendance are examples of mandatory activities. Beginners Band is offered to students interested in learning how to play a brass or reed instrument. Mixed Chorus and Girls' Chorus are both half-credit courses that meet twice a week. Mandatory concert attendance is a part of these courses. Music Appreciation, open to juniors and Seniors teaches musical history and theory. All courses in the Music Department are taught by Conrad A. Gozzo. ,.n,a...a,.ut.g..,,,..,i..A...., -.-...e. ,.,.. Students have their choice of studying Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Art, Arts and Crafts, and Mechanical Draw- ing. Each of these areas of study boast sufficient facili- ties, allowing the student to create anything from a bookshelf to an abstract drawing. The actual application of what is learned in 'textbooks or from instructors permits the student to see how his abilities are pro-- gressing, something which is not possible in some courses of study. ...I .....i... aa... ,-.a.a.u.Ms.am-waummq.-A.-L 1
