Blue and white buttons, signs down every hall, warm mittens, heavy overcoats, smiles at a winning game, silence at a losing game, all are familiar sights that become a traditional part of the Pep Club. New activities and responsibilities are added to the calendar as an all-out spirit drive was begun. Aided by the Pep Band, the club strove to keep spirit high at all the games. The Monogram Club promoted good sportsmanship and developed a proper school spirit among all the students, while it recognized cheerleaders and athletes who have lettered in a major or minor sport. This year its functions were to park cars at football games, usher at basketball games, and sell tickets to all athletic events. Led by Captain Worth Wilson, all conference and all east honorable mention, and Bobby Brimmage, all conference honorable mention, the Varsity Basketball team had a season that was marked with tremendous performances and bitter disappointments. No excuses are given- just sheer effort— though all the breaks went the other way. So people called it a building year and look forward to the new season.
