Bonfire, rally and skits got support and bleary-eyed students were up all night building mountains of wood, paper napkins and chicken wire to put on a good show for their classes. The week of Homecoming is the break before the novelty wears off and the disillusionment sets in. Southern Wayne won the football game and the crowd went wild with ecstasy. Homecoming Queen, Sandra Hartley, stood smiling in the drizzling rain, with her court of ROTC cadets and band standing proudly behind her. 48
