Under the leadership of President Macon Massey, the Student Council sought not only to work for the student body, but also to work through, and thereby to speak for, all areas of the school. Steps were taken to increase and maintain student interest and participation in Student Council activities. Evidence of this interest was seen through the success of the magazine drive, homecoming, and the candy sale for the AFS program. OFFICERS: Wendy Crumpler, President; Valerie Olliver, Secretary-Treasurer; Jeff Lee, Vice President; Mrs. Carol Rice, Advisor. Under the direction of its advisor, the Art Club strove to explore the many different facets of art and observed the work of professionals. Demonstrations by local artists presented the Art Club with a glimpse of art ' s rewards. Creations of our own amateur artists were displayed in a spring exhibition. 34
