Under the leadership of President Macon Massey, the Student Council sought not only to work for the student body, but also to work through, and thereby to speak for, all areas of the school. Steps were taken to increase and maintain student interest and participation in Student Council activities. Evidence of this interest was seen through the success of the magazine drive, homecoming, and the candy sale for the AFS program.
