Home Economics Outstanding accomplishments of the Home Economics Department included being chosen by the State Department as a model to interpret home economics education within the state of North Carolina. The department gave students experience, appreciation, and mastery of all the homemaking skills, which included clothing and textiles, food and nutrition, housing and management, and health and home safety. Students generally discovered that homemaking was not quite as easy as they had thought, but they enjoyed experimenting in sewing and cooking, and experienced a feeling of accomplishment after completing a worthwhile project. ■q; ' . And so are all the happy people. And you ' re happy too. Because tonight is the night of the Junior-Senior Prom.
