This rivalry gives ea.ch student a marvelous opportunity to perfect her athletic skills, create good sportsmanship, and to enjoy competition. It is the duty of the Athletic Board to plan and oversee the sports program. Representation of the board is equally divided between the Athenian and Cornelian Societies with an elected representative for each of the major sports. It is to the credit of this group that the keen com- petition between the A's and the C's is carried 011 in such a way that good sportsmanship, school spirit, and good taste prevail. The Athletic Board supervises the Point System which determines the Winner of the Athe- nian-Cornelian cup as well as points earned by each individual girl. On class day, the winning Society is announced and the cup presented to its president. Individuals are rewarded according to the number of points earned by the presentation of prizes, which include medals, various Southern Seminary trophies, and a blazer to the girl winning a total of six hundred points. Membership on this board is a coveted honor and a serious responsibility. +21 145 its
